Shop Play Connect 2019 - Mitcham

Last December, artist Jimmi Buscombe bought wildlife to Britannia Mall by creating a festive themed 3D art mural depicting Whitehorse’s resident wildlife.

The mall came alive with energetic lunchtime performances by the Mega Crew from Street Dance Studios (SDS), who gave away over 100 discount vouchers to a variety of businesses from across the Mitcham Shopping Centre precinct.

Keen eyed shoppers saw ‘This is us' profiles popping up across shopfronts, it was great to see business operators sharing a little bit about themselves and what they love about the Mitcham Shopping Centre precinct. Entire business "this is us" profiles, can be viewed on the right hand side of this page.

One question involved business sharing what gave them the most pride about their business impact with answers from the following businesses.

All sorts’ Op - Shop

  • ‘All Sorts’ Op-shop is now a favourite shopping spot for many who pop in, browse, chat and pick- up a bargain! We have the space for people to sit, chat and have a cuppa. Our Op-shop is spacious and stock is reasonably priced so that everyone leaves with a smile on their dial.

Aroma at Britannia

  • I have the most pride in how authentic my café is, with fresh made food and coffees made with love. My customers feel relaxed and welcomed with the positive service me and my staff provide.

Big Swing Golf - Mitcham

  • The most pride comes from seeing a wide range of patrons using our venue and golfing simulators. It is an easy and fun way to enjoy the game of golf so we see all ability levels from all ages.

Forager’s Drop

  • The growth of the community that has developed here is nothing short of amazing, they are so welcoming to new people and generally inclusive to all, they have all become very firm friends and watching that evolve has given me an immense amount of pride. I've often said, I only put the place here, it's the people that make it what it is and that is a wonderful thing.

Jacqueline Coffee and Pastries

  • The relaxed way our regulars have become friends, sharing a laugh together.

Sapporo Japanese Restaurant

  • Just being able to serve the community of Mitcham and also those from other local suburbs. Everyday, many customers walk through our doors to enjoy Japanese cuisine. Nothing gives greater pleasure when we hear praises from customers and seeing them satisfied when leaving the restaurant gives everyone a smile on their faces. It is a great feeling giving something back to the community.

Total Wellness Thai Massage

  • We conduct our business to make a positive impact in our customer’s wellbeing. When they comment “Best massage they ever had”.
